Synopsis(Summary):
John Smith is not your average 15 year old high school student, He is also one of nine surviving alien children from the planet Lorien, evacuated after their entire planet was invaded and destroyed by the Magadorians, a ruthless race of monsters in search of a new home after destroying their own. The nine lucky enough to escape were members of The Garde, meaning they were some of the lucky few on Lorien to be given gifts of powers such as controlling the weather and fire resistence. These members of the Garde escaped along with each of their assigned protectors with no powers known as the Cepan. Henri was John's Cepan. However, all of these nine survivors were all split apart at birth for a charm was set upon them in which they could only be killed in order according to their numbers, making it more difficult for the Magadorians to demolish the entire Lorien race. John Smith is number four. Number three has just been killed. They know this because everytime one is killed, a scar burns itself around their ankle in a ring. John knows he is next, so he and Henry hit the road from Florida and head to small town Paradise, Oklahoma, where John meets three very unlikely students inparticular. Mark James, the school jock, and John don't quite hit it off, but it is a whole other story for Sarah Heart, makeup free yet beautiful, becoming John's girlfriend, and Sam Goode, the alien fanatic, soon to become John's friend. And he soon meets Number Six and they all join forces to fight the battle that will either save the Loric or destroy them. So what became of Number Four? Well you will just have to read to find out.

Fun Fact:
ReplyDeleteJohn Smith's "gifts" are:
Telekinesis — All Lorien Garde have this power, developing it when they get their first Legacy, or soon after.
Lumen — The ability to produce heat and light from his hands and a resistance to heat and fire which is spread over the exterior of his body. This was his first legacy to develop.
Animal Telepathy — The ability to communicate with animals. He discovered this legacy last, near the end of the book.
Hadley/Bernie Kosar, is a strange dog that follows John EVERYWHERE, little did John know this was his old shape-shifting companion from Lorien who would protect him in some of his fights against the Magadorians!
ReplyDeleteThe Power Of Six is supposedly coming out August 23rd of this year.
ReplyDeleteSince Number Six and Number Four came in contact, the charm of being killed in order has been broken, which makes the war that much easier for the Magadorians!
ReplyDeleteHenry is not John's father, on Lorien, parents dont raise their children, grandparents do. Once the child is old enough to begin training, the grandparents hand them off to their assigned Cepan.
